MINUTES BUSINESS MEETING
FEBRUARY 25, 2020
The February business meeting was called to order by President Bill at noon at the Falcon Grill. We dispensed with the Pledge since there were only six members present. The minutes were read and approved after making the appropriate changes to the Essay and Oratorical titles. The school thought our previous topic was too controversial so we changed it to “There Is Very Little I Can Do To Effect Climate Change so Why Bother”.
Bill Lowery passed out the treasurer’s report showing we have $853.72 in the General Fund, $2104.09 in Youth and Community, $3798.48 in Savings and $659.51 in the 50/50 and fines account.
Bill reminded everyone to turn in their raffle tickets for the drawing which will be held next month. He has more tickets if we need them.
Janet reminded us that the date for the wine taste has been changed to May 15th. She handed out Wine Taste tickets to the members who were present. If you need tickets, please contact Janet.
Bill Lowery advised the date and the location of the Oratorical Contest has been changed to March 25th. It will be held in the AMS cafeteria at 6:00. There were conflicts with the date and location even though we secured the date last year.
Joann informed us we have the posters for Respect for Law. She verified that we we will supply the markers.
Lori was not present to report on the track meet. We will need ads.
Bill Sulenski reported that they had a discussion at the Zone meeting regarding the oratorical contest. It was a suggested that we have a group club contest. We decided that this would not work for us.
There was no new business to discuss.
Bill Lowery passed out a flier promoting a fund raiser for Animal Charity. It will be held on Sunday, April 26th. See Bill for more details.
